The Culver City High School AVPA will present its spring musical March 16-19, 2017
at the Veterans Memorial Building.

The musical production is an original revue of music related to the Culver City Centennial,
featuring primarily the golden era of musicals filmed on the MGM lot. We will also present
music and stories connected to the rich history of Culver City.

The creative team includes: AVPA Creative Director of Theatre Jill Novick, AVPA Creative
Director of Dance Julie Carson, and Creative Director of Music Dr. Tony Spano.
Students are working with the creative team to fashion an original script to showcase
the memorable songs and stories that made Culver City the center of Hollywood legends.

The title: CULVERCITYLAND: A Hollywood Revue Made in Culver City
Movies with songs featured include: The Wizard of Oz, An American in Paris,
Singin’ in the Rain, Gigi, Annie Get Your Gun, The Pirate, The Band Wagon, and more!
Songwriters like Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, George and Ira Gershwin, and Rodgers & Hart
will be featured. Songs from TV will also be included.

We hope the community will enjoy this musical tribute to the rich history of filmed music
here in Culver City – presented right across the street from where many were filmed!
